Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship

All rotations are at the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital which boasts a 12-story inpatient wing, a 9-story outpatient wing, 16 state-of-the-art operating rooms and two interventional radiology rooms. From October through June, the fellow has an independent clinic one-half day per week, seeing routine patients and developing critical ambulatory skills. The fellow has the opportunity to work with all members in the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology and participate in multidisciplinary clinics, including the aerodigestive, voice, velopharyngeal insufficiency, microtia, genetics of hearing loss and refractory sleep apnea clinics. The fellow takes on-call responsibilities one weeknight and one weekend per month with faculty back up.

Special Opportunity

For one month in the fall, the fellow works in depth in the fields of pediatric and neonatal critical care. This opportunity allows the fellow to establish a collaborative connection with the PICU and NICU faculty, fellows and staff while learning to care for medically complex patients.

The fellow actively participates in weekly pediatric otolaryngology meetings, weekly grand rounds, monthly morbidity and mortality sessions, and monthly vascular anomalies conference, as well as quarterly pediatric head and neck radiology and pathology conferences. Under the supervision of faculty, the fellow also directs the semiannual Multidisciplinary Pediatric Airway Conference.

Additionally, the fellow has the opportunity to conduct clinical or basic science research, guided by faculty from the pediatric otolaryngology division or other departments.
