Our Mission
The mission of the Department of Anesthesiology is to provide the highest quality patient care, education and research while fostering a diverse and inclusive community. We seek:
- To provide the highest quality of patient care in a cost-effective manner through the recruitment and retention of skilled practitioners and the creation of a learning environment that continuously improves the services through which we meet the needs of our patients.
- To provide an atmosphere and opportunity for interns, residents, and fellows to become outstanding anesthesiologists, leaders, and change agents by effectively balancing clinical service and innovative education.
- To advance the field through research by fostering an environment in which the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge associated with the principles and practice of anesthesiology can be vigorously pursued through basic and clinical experimentation.
