Brigid Gregg, MD, set to lead pediatric endocrinology at University of Wisconsin-Madison
Please join us in expressing our sincere gratitude to Brigid Gregg, MD, for her outstanding service as Associate Director for Enrichment Programs at the Caswell Diabetes Institute (CDI).
During her time in this role, Brigid brought her characteristic quiet strength, thoughtfulness, and inclusive approach to building community and fostering scientific collaboration across CDI. Under her leadership, CDI’s enrichment programs flourished through engaging symposia, a strengthened seminar series, active research clubs, and expanded opportunities to highlight research excellence across the full diabetes research spectrum — including basic, clinical, translational, and population-based science.
Dr. Gregg’s efforts helped create meaningful connections among investigators, trainees, and clinicians while strengthening the collaborative spirit central to CDI’s mission. While she will be missed in this role, we are excited to see the impact she will undoubtedly make as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and we look forward to continued collaboration in the years ahead.
At the same time, CDI is delighted to welcome Rachel Reinert, MD, PhD, as the new Associate Director for Enrichment Programs. Dr. Reinert is a physician in the Metabolism, Endocrinology, Nutrition and Diabetes Division (MEND) of Internal Medicine and leads a research laboratory focused on understanding how cellular protein quality control mechanisms regulate hormone processing and define islet cell function. Her scientific expertise, collaborative spirit, and commitment to mentoring and community-building will be invaluable as CDI enters its next phase of growth.
We look forward to working with Dr. Reinert in this important role as we continue advancing CDI’s mission over the next five years and beyond.
