Yan Zhang, PhD, receives a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation
Dr. Yan Zhang, Assistant Professor of Biological Chemistry, is the recipient of a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation. The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program supports early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization. Yan's project, "Expanding and Leveraging the Natural Diversity of Type I CRISPR for Genome Engineering," will use human cell culture, high-throughput sequencing, and bacterial genetics to advance understanding of the diversity, function, and biotechnological potential of multi-subunit CRISPR-Cas systems. Congratulations to Yan for this recognition!
