CBSSM offers two main services to patients and research participants and their families, faculty, staff, and students: the Clinical Ethics Service and the Research Ethics Service.

Our Clinical Ethics Service, run by Chief Dr. Andy Shuman includes ethics consultations, quality improvement and assurance, and proactive ethics rounds, has grown substantially over the past decade.

Our Research Ethics Service, run by Chief Prof. Kayte Spector-Bagdady includes ethics consultation as well as quality improvement and assurance. It was founded in 2018 and also conducts the research-on-research ethics necessary to set best practice standards.
