Effects of blood pressure changes

Study Purpose / Goals (Recruitment has closed)

We are currently conducting a study (IRBMED HUM00229393) to help us learn more about how changes in blood pressure affect daily activities, mood, and independence in people with spinal cord injury (SCI).

Participation included:

In-Person Baseline Visit

  • Complete surveys and a blood pressure evaluation.
  • Receive instructions for the home monitoring period.

Seven-Day Home Monitoring Period

  • Wear a study-provided blood pressure monitor.
  • Complete surveys four times each day on your smartphone or tablet.

     

Study participant requirements were:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a diagnosis of SCI
  • Use a wheelchair or mobility scooter to move around
  • Be willing to use your own smartphone or tablet and internet for the study
  • Be able to use the blood pressure monitor and mobile app, independently or with assistance

Compensation for participation was up to $120.
