FFMI Plays Important Role in Rogel Cancer Center Hematologic Malignancies Symposium
Since its launch in 2023, the Rogel Cancer Center Hematologic Malignancies Symposium has grown into a signature platform for education, collaboration, and innovation at Michigan Medicine. What began as a vision to connect academic experts with community physicians and industry partners has evolved into a dynamic annual event that continues to expand in scope, attendance, and impact.
Each year, the symposium, led by Ryan Wilcox, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Program Director of Internal Medicine, has brought together leaders in leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and related fields to share cutting-edge science, discuss evolving standards of care, and explore new clinical and research opportunities.
From 2023 to 2025, this initiative has strengthened partnerships across academia, industry, and local practitioners throughout the state of Michigan, creating a collaborative environment where knowledge exchange directly supports advances in patient care. By welcoming industry partners to exhibit alongside engaging scientific agenda, the symposium has become a unique forum where innovation meets clinical practice. “The continued growth of the Hematologic Malignancies Symposium would not be possible without the partnership and support of Fast Forward Medical Innovation (FFMI) Associate Director of Business Development Emilija Mitrikeska, MD, and the entire FFMI team, whose efforts have been instrumental in maintaining strong engagement with our industry exhibitors," says Dr. Wilcox.
The symposium's continued growth reflects U-M's enthusiasm and shared commitment to learning, collaboration, and improving outcomes for patients with hematologic malignancies.
