Michigan Medicine is entering the next phase of its pharmacy system upgrade with the upcoming implementation of the Willow Ambulatory Module (WAM) for the Research Pharmacy. This transition is scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2025, as part of the Fall MiChart System Upgrade.

The Outpatient Pharmacies successfully transitioned to WAM on May 12, 2025, marking the first phase of this initiative. Moving the Research Pharmacy to WAM will replace current paper-based prescription processes and manual data entry with an integrated, e-prescription workflow, improving efficiency and alignment across pharmacy services.

About 20% of the clinical studies in scope will be converted to WAM from paper prescriptions for go-live. The remaining studies will be converted in a rolling fashion post go-live. Investigators and teams will be notified as study-specific prescriptions are converted from paper templates to WAM for e-prescribing.

Please see the WAM Project Page for more information, and updates as they become available.
