About
In the Zhang lab, we synthesize evolutionary, genomic, and computational approaches to study a fundamental question in population genetics, which is, how have evolutionary processes such as admixture and natural selection shaped human genetic diversity and health?
Our research is currently funded by NIH/NIGMS (R35). Ongoing projects include:
1) Inferring a comprehensive genomic atlas of archaic introgression in modern humans;
2) Modeling dynamic admixture and natural selection processes using Drosophila and nonhuman primates;
3) Inferring non-additive selective effects on the human genome for accurate estimation of complex trait phenotypes;
4) Studying the impact of recent admixture on the genetic architecture of complex traits in modern human populations.
