    Lizbeth Cahuayme-Zuniga, MD, FIDSA, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and serves as the Service Chief in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Michigan. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. Dr. Cahuayme-Zuniga completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and her fellowship in Infectious Diseases, focusing on immunocompromised patients, at a joint program between The University of Texas and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she served as a Chief Fellow. She joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in 2023 and works as a clinician, educator, and specialist in Transplant Infectious Diseases. Additionally, she is actively involved in initiatives through Global REACH and the Center for Global Health Equity at the University of Michigan.
