About
Dr. Ivan Co was the first Emergency Medicine–Critical Care Medicine fellow at the University of Michigan to complete fellowship training through the internal medicine pathway. He now serves as associate program director for the University of Michigan Emergency Medicine–Critical Care Medicine Fellowship through the internal medicine pathway.
His research interest focuses on clinical questions and pathophysiology that affect how we deliver bedside care to the critically ill—including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis, respiratory failure, and mechanical ventilation.
As medical director of the Clinical Simulation Center, he values simulation-based mastery to improve patient care and patient safety. He finds it rewarding to mentor trainees and serve as a role model for what it means to be an intensivist and bedside clinician.
