  • About

My clinical focus is interventional pulmonology with a particular emphasis on complex airway and pleural diseases. I care for patients with lung nodules and assist in the diagnosis of thoracic malignancy including lung cancer through minimally invasive bronchoscopic and ultrasound-guided techniques. I manage complications of advanced lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies with therapeutic bronchoscopy. I also provide therapeutic bronchoscopy for benign conditions including advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, post lung-transplant, and tracheal stenosis. Additionally, I evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with pleural disease.

    Research Overview

Dr. Wayne’s research has focused on leveraging ‘big data’ to understand bronchoscopy practices in the ICU. His current work is focused on optimizing practices to reduce complications among patients with central airway obstruction. His goals are to develop evidence to optimize management of patients with central airway obstruction.
