    Dr. Kocher is a practicing emergency physician, professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Learning Health Sciences at the University of Michigan, research investigator at the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Center for Clinical Management Research ((https://www.annarbor.hsrd.research.va.gov/), and a health services researcher affiliated with the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (https://ihpi.umich.edu/). He is also the Director of the Michigan Emergency Department Improvement Collaborative (https://medicqi.org/), a network of hospitals across the state of Michigan dedicated to improving the quality of emergency care for all. His work focuses on optimizing the value of emergency and acute care delivery, performance measurement, quality improvement, implementation of best practices, and the career development of early investigators.
