    About

    Timothy C. Guetterman, PhD, is an applied research methodologist specialized in general research design and mixed methods research. Tim is currently an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Mixed Methods Program at the University of Michigan. His methodological interest is to advance rigorous methods of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research, particularly strategies for intersecting and integrating qualitative and quantitative research. He also conducts NIH-funded health services research with a particular focus on improving health services using informatics technology. Tim also focuses on teaching, learning, and research methods capacity building. He has extensive professional experience conducting program evaluation with a focus on educational and healthcare programs. He co-authored the sixth and seventh editions of Educational Research: Planning, Conducting, and Evaluating Quantitative and Qualitative Research, with John W. Creswell. He serves as Co-Editor in Chief for the Journal of Mixed Methods Research and President of the Mixed Methods International Research Association.

    I am a methodologist specialized in mixed methods research. Research Interests include: 1) Advancing the science and methodology of mixed methods research, 2) Enhancing health services and education through informatics technology, 3) Reducing health consequences related to environmental health conditions, and 4) Developing capacity and skills to conduct research.
