Calista Harbaugh, M.D. M.Sc. is a faculty member in the Division of Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Harbaugh graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. She then completed her internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Michigan, including 2 years as a Clinician Scholar in the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Michigan where she earned her Master’s degree in Health and Healthcare Research. She completed the Colon & Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the University of Minnesota and returned to the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor of Surgery.
Clinical Specialization:
Dr. Harbaugh’s clinical practice includes the evaluation and management of benign and neoplastic diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum, and anus. She has a particular interest in the use of laparoscopic and robotic techniques for the management of colorectal cancer, diverticular disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
