  • About

Jacqueline Madison, M.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor in both Rheumatology in the Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Madison earned her bachelor’s degree at Yale University before moving back to her home state of Michigan where she earned her degree in medicine at the University of Michigan. She next completed her Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency followed by a combined fellowship in adult and pediatric Rheumatology at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Madison sees patients with rheumatic disease across the age spectrum. She cares for children, adolescents, and adults in Rheumatology. She cares for patients with all rheumatic disease and frequently sees patients with arthritis, lupus, antiphospholipid syndrome, myositis, vasculitis, and autoinflammatory disease. She is enthusiastic about helping patients fit their medical needs into a full life.

Dr. Madison participates in research on Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) with the Knight Lab. She contributes to research related to understanding the mechanisms of APS and how the disease manifests in a variety of ways in patients. She has a particular interest in pediatric patients with APS. Dr. Madison also has a particular interest in clinical trials in APS and lupus.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Madison enjoys spending time with her family including her partner, children, and dog. She loves traveling, running, enjoying the outdoors, and exploring Ann Arbor’s many parks and playgrounds with her children.

    Research Overview

My research focuses on trying to better understand the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and treatment of Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS), including pediatric APS patients and lupus patients who have antiphospholipid antibodies. In extending research from bench to bedside, I contribute to the translational research of the Knight Lab and to clinical trials. I also study lupus, in addition to and independently of patients with APS. I have particular interest in clinical trials in lupus and the pioneering work of cellular therapy trials in autoimmune disease.
