About
Dr. Bachman is a physician scientist studying the Gram-negative bacterial pathogen Klebsiella pneumoniae. He received his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Michigan Medical Scientist Training Program. He then completed a Clinical Pathology Residency and Clinical Microbiology Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also performed postdoctoral research on the host response to K. pneumoniae iron metabolism in the laboratory of Jeffrey Weiser, MD. He is currently a Medical Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at Michigan Medicine and a Principal Investigator studying K. pneumoniae pathogenesis and risk factors for infection in hospitalized patients.
