Dr. Zhang's clinical and research work focuses on pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders, with particular emphasis on genetic epilepsies and seizure mechanisms. She is collaborating with Dr. Stephanie Bielas at Michigan Medicine to investigate RNF2-mediated chromatin regulation in cortical development using stem cell and brain organoid models. Her goal is to translate human genetic discoveries into mechanism-based therapies that improve outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
