Dr. Priyanka Verma investigated the immunological mechanisms associated with pregnancy loss during her thesis work. Her current research in the ScleroLab involves the use of bleomycin-induced fibrosis mouse models, human disease samples, and 3D skin organoids to determine the role of the meta-organismal TMA/FMO3/TMAO pathway and immune abnormalities in fibrosis and scleroderma. She is also studying how various pharmacological inhibitors mitigate fibrotic phenotypes in the aforementioned models.
