Committed to training
The Kresge Hearing Research Institute is committed to training the next generation of leaders in the field. Research and didactic training has long been a mission of the Institute. Research training opportunities are available for medical students, residents, graduate students, fellows and visiting scientists.
Every week, the Kresge Hearing Research Institute hosts a guest speaker, who presents as a part of the KHRI Hearing, Balance and Chemical Senses Seminar Series.
All seminars are held at 12 pm unless otherwise noted. Please contact Kathryn Beeman at [email protected] with questions.
This annual lectureship is specifically intended for promising investigators in early stages of their careers at the senior postdoctoral or junior faculty level. The purpose is to encourage these rising investigators and give them the opportunity to create new contacts, collaborations or mentor relationships. The lecturer should be working on topics related to the programs and mission of the Kresge Hearing Research Institute, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and will be selected by the faculty.
Originally named the Lawrence-Hawkins Symposium, The Founders Day symposium was established in 2004 to honor the research legacy of the KHRI's founding faculty members, Drs. Merle Lawrence and Joseph Hawkins. This one-day event is devoted to basic science and clinically related presentations by students, fellows and residents of the department and highlighted with a morning presentation by a distinguished alumnus.
