Leadership and Development Council leads Lana Hu and Richard Rogel.

Formed in 2017, the Joint Institute’s Leadership & Development Council aims to advise, inspire and support the future of UMMS and PKUHSC collaborations in medical research and education. A diverse group of Council members with backgrounds in healthcare, finance, pharmaceuticals, and tech bring their unique expertise to the Joint Institute and champion the partnership among their professional networks.

The group is co-led by longtime U-M supporter and Michigan Medicine Victors for Michigan campaign co-chair Richard Rogel, and Lana Hu, Founder and CEO of Amcare Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Beijing and a graduate of PKUHSC and the U-M Ross School of Business. The Council holds meetings twice each year, including once in conjunction with the annual JI Symposium.
