MCORRP Internship FAQ

All undergraduate, graduate, and medical students with an interest in cardiovascular research are eligible to apply. Recent graduates and international students with the proper documentation are also eligible. MCORRP is not currently accepting high school applicants or "rising" college freshmen.

Program dates vary, but the internship generally begins around the first week of June and ends around the first week of August..  This 10-week internship is in-person. Remote work is not allowed during the summer program but is permitted for interns who continue working during the academic year

You will be asked to submit a cover letter along with your current resume or curriculum vitae. The cover letter should contain the following:

  1. What you are currently doing (e.g., your major, current grade, etc.)
  2. Your future career and life goals
  3. What you hope to learn from this experience
  4. Why you feel you would be a good fit for the program

The application can be found here ( Link is only active during application process)

Although subject to change, applications are generally due on January 31st.

All applications are blinded and reviewed by a selection committee composed of 5-7 junior and senior MCORRP staff members. Applicants are scored on several components (e.g. the quality of application materials, leadership experience, community service/volunteer experience, etc.) and the top-ranked applicants are selected.

Decision notifications are released in mid-March.

The internship allows some flexibility for vacation; however, vacations planned during the first two weeks of the internship are highly discouraged. The first two weeks are reserved for orientation and training, and attendance is required.
