Michigan 2-1-1 Conference (Lansing, Michigan)

The TIERRA team presented findings from their year-long public deliberation project exploring ethical issues in the use of AI in healthcare at the Inform Michigan 2-1-1 Conference in Lansing. During the session, participants engaged in thoughtful dialogue about their hopes and concerns surrounding AI, and discussed potential interventions and programs to help mitigate risks and ensure AI technologies serve Michigan communities responsibly.

 

Health Information Technology Commission: Building an AI Task Force (Lansing, Michigan)

The TIERRA team recently introduced and facilitated a strategic planning session for the newly approved AI Task Force under Michigan’s Health Information Technology Commission. The meeting helped shape the scope, deliverables, and partnership opportunities that will guide the Task Force’s work in promoting trustworthy AI and resilient health systems across the state.

AI in Healthcare: Notification and Consent Preferences Based on U.S. National Survey

There are strong public expectations for transparency and control over artificial intelligence (AI) use in healthcare settings. A clear majority of U.S. adults want either to provide explicit permission (45-54%) or at least be notified (32-39%) before AI tools are used in their care, whether for clinical decision-making, routine documentation, or administrative functions.
