The University of Michigan Head and Neck Oncology Clinical and Health Services Research Group focuses on improving patient outcomes and experiences, while advancing head and neck oncology through clinical and health services research. Dr. Forner and Dr. Yalamanchi are fellowship-trained head and neck surgical oncologist and microvascular reconstructive surgeons. Dr. Forner has an interest in clinical epidemiology and clinical research. Dr. Yalamanchi studies value-based care delivery in otolaryngology and head and neck oncology - essentially how we can make our care higher quality at a lower cost.
The Group’s research has three main pillars, including Decision-Making in Head and Neck Cancer, Cost-Effectiveness and Decision-Modeling in Head and Neck Oncology, and Challenging Dogmas in Otolaryngology. Further work includes clinical trials within head and neck oncology, and large multi-center international collaborative work to study rare diseases and uncommon outcomes.
