Biological Clocks & Metabolism
Biological clocks synchronize metabolism with daily cycles of feeding and fasting to maintain metabolic health. Disruption of these rhythms contributes to obesity, diabetes, and age-related metabolic disease.
Our research investigates how circadian clocks organize metabolism across tissues and how feeding time reshapes these processes.
We focus particularly on adipose tissue, a metabolic hub that coordinates nutrient storage, release, and systemic energy balance. Understanding these mechanisms will reveal how biological timing protects metabolic health.
