About
Leading the fight against ALS.
Giving hope to those affected by the disease.
Led by Director Eva L. Feldman, MD, PhD, with Associate Director Stephen Goutman, MD, MS, the Scott Pranger ALS Center at Michigan Medicine has two principal missions - patient care and scientific research - that work together to improve the understanding of ALS, with hopes to one day make it a preventable disease.
The Scott Pranger ALS Center has become internationally renowned as a leader in ALS by a three-pronged approach:
A passionate and knowledgeable clinical staff focused on improving the lives of those affected by ALS.
Our clinical team, serving on the front line of ALS, not only provides exceptional care for ALS patients and their families as an ALS Association-Certified Treatment Center of Excellence but also connects them to opportunities to fight the disease through clinical trials and observational studies.
A multi-disciplinary scientific team, recognized across the globe as leading the way in ALS research.
Scientific discovery in ALS is advancing at a rapid pace. From basic science, which aims to understand the mechanisms of nerve damage in ALS, to observational studies investigating who, where, and why people develop ALS, our researchers work tirelessly to find the answers to these burning questions.
A passionate and committed Advisory Board that advances outreach and awareness both within and outside the ALS community.
Many of our board have experienced the devastation of ALS firsthand. Coupled with the knowledge and experience from years as community and business leaders, our board is an unparalleled group of supporters and advisors in the fight against ALS.
