Developing & Translating Advanced MRI Tech
The Michigan Institute of Imaging Technology and Translation (MIITT) is a premier medical imaging research unit housed within the Department of Radiology at Michigan Medicine. MIITT unites physicians and researchers to develop and advance imaging techniques and facilitate translation of imaging technology into state-of-the-art clinical care. MIITT was designed uniquely to tie together and leverage the strengths and expertise of the University of Michigan including engineering, physics, medicine, computing, and data science, to develop high-value, high-impact medical imaging innovations.
MIITT develops and deploys techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (MRF), parallel imaging, compressed sensing, machine learning, low-field MRI systems, and unique interventional tools to address some of the biggest imaging challenges in current clinical practice.
Specific areas of research and technology development include:
- Cardiac Imaging
- Abdominal Imaging: Prostate, Liver, Kidney and Bladder
- Interventional MRI: Image guided biopsy & ablation
- Brain Imaging
- Musculoskeletal imaging
