Department of Otolaryngology, Kresge Hearing Research Institute

The Kresge Hearing Research Institute, part of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, consists of a diverse and dedicated group of scientists and physicians working on basic science and clinical aspects of hearing and balance disorders, in health and disease.

Our Mission

Our mission is to:

Advance scientific knowledge of the development, function and pathology of hearing and balance
Translate today's scientific discoveries into tomorrow's clinical treatment
Train the next generation of scientists and clinician-scientists from the United States and worldwide
Promote diversity in academia and facilitate integration of persons with special needs into the research community
Educate the general public about hearing health and the benefits of biomedical research
