Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG)
The Emergency Medicine Interest Group is a medical student run organization dedicated to promoting awareness and interest in the field of emergency medicine. The group also strives to better prepare medical students for future training as emergency physicians. We provide interested students with clinical exposure to the emergency department, various workshops targeting basic procedural skills, faculty mentoring and advising for applying to residency.

Wilderness Medicine Interest Group (WMIG)
The goal of the Wilderness Medicine Student Interest Group is to provide fundamental knowledge and foster interest in wilderness medicine for the University of Michigan medical students.
Our activities include multiple talks and workshops throughout the year with topics including improvised splinting, improvised litters, heat and cold injury treatment, wound care, search & rescue, emergency incident response and ultrasound in the resource limited environment.

Visiting Student
Fourth year students in good standing at US medical schools are welcome to rotate in Emergency Medicine. Visiting students may only rotate at UMHS and not at the affiliated sites. A full description of the experience is available online.

Research Opportunities
We aim to cultivate research focused on preclinical, clinical, implementation and policy aspects of emergency medicine and critical care. Our training opportunities range from summer projects for first-year medical students to long-term career development.
