CHCR Authoring Platform for Digital Interventions
Transforming surveys into structured, participant-facing programs for research and education.
Overview
CHCR developed the Authoring Platform to support researchers and teams running behavioral interventions, education-based studies, and digital learning programs. The platform transforms standalone survey tools such as Qualtrics into structured, participant-facing experiences with login, guided content, and integrated study management.
The Need
Many research teams rely on tools like Qualtrics to deliver surveys, but these tools are designed for single-use forms rather than ongoing participant engagement.
Teams needed a way to:
- Deliver multi-session interventions and educational content
- Allow participants to return and continue where they left off
- Structure content into modules or chapters
- Monitor participant progress over time
- Manage data across multiple surveys
What We Built
CHCR developed a web-based platform that connects independent surveys into a complete, structured program.
Key features include:
- Participant signup and login, with optional digital consent
- A learning-style interface showing completed and upcoming modules
- Support for multi-module programs built from separate surveys
- Flexible content release options including sequential, timed, or open access
- Integration with SMS and email notifications
- Custom branding, design, and URLs
For study teams:
- Dashboard for monitoring participant progress and engagement
- Visibility into completion across modules
- Data export capabilities across all linked surveys
How It Works
Each module or section of a program is built as an individual survey or content experience. When a participant completes a module, they are returned to a central interface where they can continue through the program.
This approach allows teams to:
- Build flexible, modular interventions
- Combine surveys with educational content
- Adapt and expand programs over time
While commonly built on Qualtrics, the platform can integrate with other systems such as REDCap, Google Forms, or hosted web content.
AI-Enabled Features
The platform includes integration with an AI API that enables real-time analysis and processing of content within survey experiences. This supports more dynamic, responsive interactions and opens the door for personalized content delivery and intelligent workflows.
Impact
The Authoring Platform is currently supporting:
- Over 15 active studies
- Thousands of participants
- A wide range of behavioral, clinical, and educational applications
It provides a scalable way for teams to deliver structured interventions and learning experiences without building custom applications from scratch.
