Urology-NPRDivisionStoffelOR

Division of Neurourology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery

Our division cares for patients with complex voiding dysfunction, neurogenic bladder and more.

Our Vision
The vision of the U-M Medical School Department of Urology Division of Neurourology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery is to be the primary destination regionally for patients needing care for complex voiding dysfunction, neurogenic bladder and reconstructive surgery. We believe that a strong clinical investment supports the educational and research efforts of the division. While clinical activity provides a strong base, the education and research give direction motivational to push the field forward.

Clinical Care

Our division includes urologists, nurses, physician assistants, and clinical fellows — who work together closely with a team of physical therapists, pain specialists, urogynecologists, gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, and specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

As one of the nation’s largest teams devoted to improving the lives of people living with functional bladder disorders, we have extensive experience with complex reconstructive surgery, nonsurgical nerve stimulation techniques, BOTOX® treatment for bladder disorders, and videourodynamic evaluation of complex urinary disorders.

Education

The Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship accepts one trainee each year, into either a two- or three-year track. The fellowship is fully accredited by the ACGME.

Research

Our division actively participates in numerous public- and privately-funded research efforts that seek to develop new, and more effective, treatments for patients and their families — while also helping to ensure that the Department of Urology remains at the forefront of innovation and understanding related to urologic conditions.
