Social Science and Medicine

Social Science and Medicine is led by CHHASSEM Co-Directors Dr. Julie Maslowsky (Nursing, Public Health, Institute for Social Research) and Dr. Scott Stonington (Anthropology and Internal Medicine, Medical School).

The Social Science and Medicine area builds connections between social and medical sciences at the University of Michigan and accelerates innovative interdisciplinary research being jointly conducted by social and medical scientists. It serves as a living laboratory to test novel interdisciplinary collaboration-building strategies and mechanisms.
