Apply for Integrated Thoracic Surgery Residency

Thank you for your interest in the Integrated Thoracic Surgery Residency Program at the U-M Medical School Department of Cardiac Surgery. The program includes two years of required Academic Development Time between the third and fourth years of clinical training. Applications with visas must be eligible to renew their visa for the length of the residency training program (eight years). Community health services are a required rotation, so it will be necessary for trainees to commute to off-site locations. However, these rotations are minimal.

How to Apply

The Integrated Thoracic Surgery Residency training program is a participant in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Our program also participates in signaling.

To assure a complete and timely review of your application, we strongly recommend that all materials are posted on the ERAS system prior to the opening date, if possible.

Two positions are available each year and are filled through the National Resident Matching Program.
