Cardiac Surgery Undergraduate Program

Building foundations for medical advancement requires more than traditional classroom learning. We offer dynamic training experiences for students pursuing medicine through an integration of clinical exposure, research participation and faculty mentorship.

Cardiac Surgery Summer Immersion Experience

Motivated undergraduate pre-med students interested in shadowing cardiac surgery may apply to the Cardiac Surgery Summer Immersion Experience (CSSIE). The program provides students with the opportunity to explore cardiac surgery through observation in the operating room, hands-on research, clinical simulation, and short lectures on theory. The program accepts two students each summer and lasts approximately 6-8 weeks (May-June and July-August), structured similar to an elective clinical rotation.
