Non-operative Interventional Spine Fellowship

This one-year, PASSOR-recognized (non-ACGME accredited) fellowship at the U-M Medical School Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation offers an incredible opportunity to deepen your expertise in spine care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. 

Designed to build on core PM&R musculoskeletal training, the program provides advanced exposure to biomechanical evaluation, comprehensive spine management, and interventional procedures.

How to Apply

This fellowship is not classified as a PGY-5 position. Instead, fellows are appointed as junior faculty members, with access to the full benefits and resources that come with a medical school faculty appointment.

Applicants must be a PGY-4 PM&R resident in good standing or PM&R board certified/eligible.

Curriculum

Fellows work closely with Spine Program faculty to care for patients with both acute and chronic spine conditions. They are part of an active team that includes physiatrists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, pain psychologists, and case managers. 

Fellows also play an active role in resident education and contribute to spine research.
