Briceño Lab

The Briceño Lab focuses on cognitive aging among older adults across culturally, linguistically and socially varied contexts within and outside the United States. Our work is dedicated to understanding how these contexts impact cognitive health and risk for Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s disease related dementias (AD/ADRD) among older adults.

Research Focus

Our research investigates the measurement of cognitive function and dementia across populations, in addition to risk and resilience factors associated with cognitive aging. Our work includes cross-national research to study contextual factors that impact cognitive health and outcomes in older adults.

Areas of Focus

  • Equity in the measurement of cognition across culturally and linguistically varied older adult populations
  • Classification of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia for cross-national, population-based aging research
  • Risk and resilience factors associated with cognitive aging
