Orthotics & Prosthetics Residency
Training Leaders
We offer accredited orthotic and prosthetic residencies.
Specialized Training Opportunities
The Orthotics & Prosthetics Center, a division of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, has provided quality NCOPE-accredited orthotic and prosthetic residencies since 1994. The resident gets a structured residency that allows progression at a comfortable level to build the skills required to become a confident and knowledgeable board-eligible clinician.
We offer a holistic approach to residency, integrating clinical, technical, didactic, and research experiences. Our main facility is a large outpatient center with an onsite technical department. Residents also rotate through our 3 satellite offices. Michigan Medicine is a level one trauma center and teaching hospital affiliated with a nationally ranked medical school.
Residency begins July 1. For the incoming class starting July 2026, we offer both 12-month single discipline residencies and 24-month dual discipline O&P residencies. These are research track residencies. We have 4 resident positions each year.
