PediaTrac Research Group
The PediaTrac Project is focused on the development and applications of a novel web-based measure that uses longitudinal observational study methods to collect uniform data from parents/caregivers to characterize typical and atypical infant/toddler developmental trajectories from birth through 18 months of age. Our core domains of early development include motor (MOT), social/communication/cognition (SCG), early relational health (ERH), sleep and feeding/eating/elimination.
To better understand potential sources of variation in caregiver report, embedded response style indices have also been developed and evaluated. Main areas of investigation are examining psychometrics of the instrument developed using an IRT framework and using PediaTrac methods to study early development in infants and toddlers with congenital conditions that entail developmental risks. The PediaTrac Data Coordinating Site is housed at the University of Pittsburgh under the direction of Renee Lajiness-O’Neill, PhD.
