Abdominal Radiology
Division of Abdominal Radiology
Providing expert imaging for abdominal and pelvic conditions using advanced technologies like ablation, contrast ultrasound, and 3D printing
The U-M Medical School Department of Radiology Division of Abdominal Radiology is a leading provider of specialized diagnostic and procedural imaging services focused on conditions affecting the abdomen and pelvis. With a commitment to providing the highest standard of care, we employ a wide range of advanced and newer imaging technologies, including cutting-edge 3D Printing, low-field magnetic resonance imaging, novel ablation techniques, histotripsy and contrast-enhanced ultrasound.
Clinical Care
In addition to our advanced diagnostic capabilities, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the imaging and procedures we conduct. We work closely with a team of physicists, technical experts, and managerial staff to continuously monitor and improve radiation safety protocols, ensuring that our imaging techniques expose patients to the minimum necessary radiation while maintaining high-quality images.
Regular peer reviews and quality assurance assessments are integral to our ongoing efforts to refine our processes and maintain the highest standards of care.
Education
The division actively participates in multidisciplinary conferences with our oncology, radiation oncology and surgery colleagues. These conferences provide an opportunity to discuss and coordinate the imaging and treatment of complex oncologic conditions, organ transplantation procedures, trauma cases, and other benign conditions affecting the abdomen and pelvis. Our collaborative approach ensures that patients receive comprehensive, personalized care that addresses all aspects of their health.
