Division of Cardiothoracic Radiology

Delivering advanced thoracic and cardiovascular diagnostics, applying cutting-edge CT, MRI, and image-guided procedures tailored to each patient

The U-M Medical School Department of Radiology Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging provides state-of-the-art diagnostic thoracic and cardiovascular imaging services across multiple U-M Health locations. We specialize in leveraging advanced imaging technologies tailored to individual patient presentations and underlying disease processes, delivering precision diagnostics for optimal clinical care.

Our faculty supervise and interpret thoracic and cardiovascular CT and MRI exams, utilizing the latest imaging modalities and protocols. We also perform image-guided procedures, including percutaneous biopsies and drainage under CT guidance.

Clinical Care

We offer the region’s most advanced thoracic and cardiovascular diagnostic capabilities, including photon-counting CT scanners and subspecialty expertise that enable integrated, high-impact care.

Education

Our division is committed to the education and professional development of medical students, residents, and fellows. Trainees gain hands-on experience in the full range of cardiothoracic imaging and actively contribute to patient care. The curriculum emphasizes both diagnostic interpretation and procedural skills in non-vascular thoracic interventions.
