The University of Michigan Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program will conduct in-person interviews for the 2027–2028 cycle on the date listed above.
Interview invitations will be extended to selected applicants through RezRATE. Candidates will have 48 hours from the time of invitation to accept or decline. All interview scheduling will be managed via RezRATE.
Eligibility
Applicants who have completed a course of study at a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited dental school, and who have graduated with a DDS or DMD are eligible to apply.
Dental graduates should meet the following criteria:
- Have passed the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) or the National Board of Dental Education (NBDE) Part I and Part II exams.
- Have taken the National Board of Medical Examiners Comprehensive Basic Science Exam (CBSE).
- Be eligible for a full Michigan dental license. Click here to view licensure requirements.
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
At the present time, the U-M Medical School Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program offers 3 categorical residency positions. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States. We also welcome applicants with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
