Giving to Transplant Surgery
Renewing Lives Through Advanced Transplant Care
Since we performed Michigan’s first transplant surgery in 1964, donor generosity has helped keep us on the leading edge.
Donations help us pursue cutting-edge research in areas like:
- Organ donation
- Managing progressive organ failure
- Disease prevention
- The use of technology like extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) to increase the number of transplantable organs
Your Generosity Improves and Saves Lives
Donations lead to new possibilities for patients by helping us:
- Launch research to increase organ availability
- Identify patients who need extra care to prevent organ rejection
- Study stem cells and patient genomes to prevent lung transplant failure
- Help pediatric patients return to school
- Offer educational opportunities to advance the work of transplant nurses
- Prepare our learners to be compassionate and innovative leaders and experts
- Participate in clinical trials that lead to breakthroughs for patients
- Attract and retain the most talented faculty
Together, we can help patients experience the best health and quality of life possible.
Thank you for making a difference for so many people.
