Clinical Child Psychology Training Program

This two-year, APA-accredited Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology at the U-M Medical School Department of Psychiatry embraces a research mentorship model and is designed to foster advanced clinical skills and scholarly development, preparing fellows to excel as scientist-practitioners.

Eligibility & Application

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program by August 2026. The fellowship begins on September 1, 2026.

Fellowship Tracks

We offer two distinct tracks to meet the varying interests and career goals of our fellows.

This track is tailored to those seeking advanced clinical practice experience alongside opportunities for research and professional growth. Fellows in this track dedicate approximately 80% of their time to clinical responsibilities and 20% to research and educational activities.

Designed for fellows interested in a balanced experience, this track offers 50% commitment to research and professional development and 50% to clinical training.

  1. Perinatal, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (Zero to Thrive)
  2. Youth Depression and Suicide Prevention (YDSP)
  3. Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program (CEDP)
  4. Child OCD and Anxiety Disorders Program (COAP)
