Fellowship & Training Programs

The Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes offers several fellowship and training programs including an Endocrinology Fellowship Training Program, a Podiatry Research Fellowship Training Program, a Multidisciplinary T32 Postdoctoral Training Program in Basic Diabetes Research, and a T32 Training Program in Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Conferences & Lectures

The MEND Division holds regularly scheduled conferences with the majority being available for physicians to earn CME credit. The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Gut hormone FGF15 changes how mice respond to weight loss

University of Michigan researchers found that a gut hormone known as fibroblast growth factor 15, or FGF15, is essential for preserving lean mass during diet-induced weight loss. Their results suggest that effective weight-loss strategies need to be tailored to each patient.
