Fellowship & Training Programs
Our division offers a three-year Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program, a two-year Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, a one-year Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship, and a Multidisciplinary T32 Research Training Program in Lung Disease. Our fellowship and training programs deliver outstanding clinical and research training and provide mentorship by faculty and staff who are recognized as some of the top educators within the institution. The programs are designed to develop academicians, consultant-caliber clinicians and leaders for the pharmaceutical and health care industries.
CONFERENCES & LECTURES
Our division has regularly scheduled conferences including clinical, research, and case-based, with speakers from both inside and outside of the division and department. Many of these activities are available for physicians to earn CME credit. The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Department of Internal Medicine, along with other departments and our division, sponsors conference schedules.
Conference schedules sponsored by the Department of Internal Medicine, other Departments, and our own Divisional conferences include:
- Core Pulmonary Clinical Conference: This weekly conference includes lectures from faculty within and outside of the division covering the clinical aspects of the fellows training.
- PCCM Case Conference and Journal Club: This weekly conference includes a case presentation. Once a month a journal club takes place.
- Research Conference: This weekly conference provides a formalized interactive educational series about the research activities among scientists with in the Division.
- Core Surgical Critical Care Conference: Weekly conference provided by the Department of Surgery related to clinical aspects of care of the critically ill surgical patient.
- Lung Transplant Case Conference: Biweekly conference.
- Tumor Board: Weekly Multidisciplinary Conference: Discusses approach to diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients with nodules, lung, and other thoracic tumors.
- Interstitial Lung Disease Case Conference: Weekly multidisciplinary conference discussing approach to diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients with interstitial lung disease.
- VA Joint Pulmonary/Thoracic Conference: Held at VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System weekly.
- Pulmonary & Critical Care Board Review: Weekly review of pulmonary and critical care board related questions.
- Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine "Boot Camp": Weekly conference commencing after orientation and continuing into the fall.
